2008 PROGRESS REPORT:
Congratulations to all St. Baldrick's supporters! Together, with your help, St. Baldrick's has reached our 2008 fundraising goal! September is already recognized as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month; September 2008, however, will also be known as the month that St. Baldrick's reached the long-awaited $17 million mark!

This is an open group, so everyone can invite their friends to join in support of Conquering Kids' Cancer!

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is Shaving the Way to Conquer Kids’ Cancer by raising funds for childhood cancer research through head-shaving events.

Cancer is the #1 disease-killer of children in the US and Canada alone. Worldwide 160,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year. The mission of the St. Baldrick's Foundation is to raise awareness and funds to cure kids' cancer by supporting cancer research.

What began as a challenge among friends has grown into the world’s largest fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Since 2000, events have taken place in 18 countries and 48 US states, raising over $50.8 million, and shaving more than 72,490 heads.

Anyone can organize an event or sign-up to be a "shavee" and stand in solidarity with kids who typically lose their hair to cancer treatments. Not ready to shave your head? You can also volunteer at an event or be a donor.

2008 GOALS - To Raise $17 million by 25,000 shavees at 600 events

2007 –$12.9+ million raised by over 18,000 shavees at 402 events

2006 – $8.3 million raised by 11,500 shavees at 271 events

2005 – $5.3 million raised by 8,500 shavees at 220 events

2004 – $3.5 million raised by 5,000 shavees at 164 events

2003 – $2.14 million raised by 2,700 shavees at 130 events

2002 – $990,000 raised by 350 shavees at 37 events

2001 – $140,000 raised by 25 shavees at 2 events

2000 – $104,000 raised by 20 shavees (1st event at Jim Brady’s Restaurant & Bar in NYC)
